Founded in 1988 in Japan by the Sakar Ringyo group, it took its final name following the purchase of the bankrupt company Suntour, manufacturer of seat posts, cranks and other aluminium parts.
The company SR Suntour was created and became as we know it today, one of the leaders in bike components.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1995 Richard Virenque won the best climber polka dot jersey on the Tour de France and would do so for 7 consecutive years. That same year, SR Suntour began manufacturing the first suspension forks for mountain bikes.
